The modded server has now reached the testing phase. That means we can start discussing what map and mods to use.

The first step will be deciding on a map.
Lets have your suggestions for a map. Reply here with what map you would like to see on the modded server. After all suggestions are gathered they will be put into a poll for voting.

After we get the map decided we can start discussing what mods to run.

My suggestion is crystal isles

I agree with Des Crystal Isles

I agree with Desi, crystal isles, played a lil in singleplayer and was stunned.

I was originally gonna go with crystal isles but after taking a tour and the fact the map creator released a global map wipe with 1 days notice recently im gonna have to go recommend Ragnarok, it has 3 active people working on it,is further along in development and they have a proven track record for good design,they made the Valhalla map.

I'm personally tossed up between Ragnarok and Crystal Isles. Both have all biomes, so either is good for me.

Ragnarok gets my vote. The hand held map works. every biome is there and at least partially populated. so far no complete wipe with 1 day notice. more than one person working on it. creators made a very popular map already.

I love the way Crystal Isle looks and the thoughts behind it, but a global wipe is a NO in my books, my second choice is Ragnarok. I like the Valhalla map better but its not being actively worked on. So Ragnarok it is for me.

I vote for Ragnarok - It looks more like an island and less like a fantasy land. Seems more accurate to Si-Fi which the game is. I do love the colors of the Crystal Isles but I don't think I would enjoy it quite as much as Ragnarok.

My general TLDR perception of each map:

Crystal Isles - Fantasy touch, beautiful, more colorful than general Ark maps. Slightly more customization beyond standard game.

Ragnarok - Follows general art theme of Ark, relatively light general customization beyond vanilla ark, beautiful, brilliant sense of mystery & discovery in some areas.

For context, when I reference customization I mean things beyond just the map itself being custom (additional resources, creature types and so on - not just customized landscape elements). Although I love what they are doing with Crystal Isles as it relates to these types of customization each one requires that much more testing, and creates a higher chance for bugs and so on. I am equally interested in general MOD's as I am in playing on a new map, and I feel they will add the additional spice we're probably all looking for.
